We had planned last year to have our pre-wedding photoshoot in Bali, Indonesia by June 2015. But after lots of considering, we later think that it's not a good idea and we put it at the back of our mind.
But then in Jan 2015, our friend invited us to their wedding on 10 October 2015 in Perth, and we were struggling whether we should go or not - To go for the wedding only (which is quite pricey), or spend more days there for vacation (which... we have no time for vacation anymore). Perth is where James completed his degree, and also a place where he had worked. I went there once 3 years ago and we had beautiful memories there too; knowing his friends and his life over there. But after he moved back to Malaysia, he seldom have the time to fly back to visit his friends. So after months and months of considering, he one day suggested that: Why don't we do our pre-wedding photoshoot there? It will be meaningful to him since Perth can be considered as his second home, where he spent 9 years in. So around May 2015, we contacted our old friend David (who is a full time photographer, with his bridal studio Seventyone Production located in Klang), booked our trip, and wait for October to come.
The Meeting and the Planning
Since James and I are living in different state (Johore and Sarawak), we could not discuss much about the plan for the photoshoot face to face. Plus I'm not really familiar with Perth, so I kinda leave all the work to him XD PLUS, David is in Klang and he often busy with photoshooting and stuffs, made it more difficult to plan. We ended up having everything done in one day - the gown choosing, photoshoot locations and shooting plan, 2 days before our trip to Perth.
I really am blessed to have James. He listed out all the proposed destinations so all we need to do is to meet with David to finalize the trip. All I did was just ask him to summarize them into a map to make it easier for the guys to discuss, and... appear at the bridal shop and choose my gowns! (What a useless bride-to-be) XD All gown-choosing and discussion are kinda smooth and nice, but the only problem we have is the photo shooting session in University of Western Australia (UWA), the beautiful university where James got his Bachelor's Degree.
UWA permits only weekends for wedding photo shoots, and we need to buy "photo ticket" which costs AUD90. But there is a problem: David and Prue (his pretty GF and our MUA) are scheduled to touch down in Perth on Sunday 2:20pm, and after all the hectic queues and immigration and stuffs, they might come out only at 3:30pm (rough estimation). Travel from airport to UWA need about 30 minutes, and with the makeup and preparation, which takes about approximately 2 hours (also, just estimation), we can only start our photoshoot around 6pm. And guess what, the sun sets at 6:20pm. How on earth are we gonna take photos in 20 minutes?! These are the guy's concerns. (Typical logic brain guys haha)
07.10.15 5:40pm Perth - Everything is starting to turn orange.
07.10.15 6:00pm Perth - The sun is disappearing soon!
But.
I have a different feeling.
The day we have this discussion is on Wednesday, which me and James will fly on the next day. All I worried is: If we wear the gown in on Monday (which is not allowed), and was caught by the security, my mood will be influenced whole day (Emo...). And I kinda have a bad feeling on wearing the wedding gown into the university on weekday (I mean, it's against the rules!). So I tell James to check the ticket on Sunday. Guess what: tickets on Saturday had been sold out, yet Sunday, tickets are still available (sounds lucky right?). When James was still struggling whether to buy or not to buy the ticket, I told him: I know if it wasn't God's will, there won't be tickets available at all. It means we still have a chance. And when he and David both are worrying about the sunset, I said: Have faith, I'm sure God will provide. You may think that I'm kinda crazy, but I don't know why, the faith just come like that. And... Wa-la! Tickets bought, and we are flying to Perth.
Woke up 3am for our KUL-PER flight and it's killing both of us sleeping pigs. See those sleepy, swollen face!
After 2 days of busy schedules packed with "James Yek reunion meals", flower choosing for our photo bouquet and our friends' wedding, finally, the day has come!!!
Sunday (1st session) - UWA
The Test of Faith
We went to the airport early, around 2:30pm, hoped that they will be as lucky as us, that the flight was first to arrive and the immigration and checking all goes well. Yet, things aren't as what we hoped. While James went into the airport waiting for them, I waited alone in the car, watching the sun, and hoped that they will come out as soon as possible. The longer I wait, the more anxious I became. As the sun starting to set and the time ticks, I began to consider the guys' Plan B: Forget the rules and let's just get ready to be caught by the security tomorrow!
I forgot to pray.
There is a sayings which says that: When it's the end for human, it's the beginning for God. 人的盡頭就是上帝的開始。After I waited anxiously for about one hour, there suddenly was a click in my mind: Where is your faith in God? Then I started to repent, and cast all my worries to God, and willing to leave all the "circumstances" to Him. Well, He DID let us buy the ticket, right? (I'm kinda like throwing responsibilities to God XP) Guess what, my heart was set free after the "Amen". I no longer bear the worries. I put my faith on God.
At last, David and Prue came out around 3:45pm due to the long queue at the immigration. So we rushed to James' previous church (KMC) near UWA around 4:10pm for the make ups, and wow, we completed the makeup and hairdo in 1 hour! (A big thank you to Rev Lam and family for letting us preparing at the church and waiting for us!!!) We then rushed to UWA, and "lucky" us, we met a security patrolling around the campus area. Luckily, we bought the photo ticket! So we then started our photo shoot, and ended around 6:30pm with everything going smoothly and steadily, with the beautiful sun rays in the beautiful university. We even enjoyed the photoshoot session with the cool breeze! Hallelujah! God's grace is indeed very sufficient!

Monday (2nd session) - Perth City
Woke up early morning with Auntie Helen (James' 3rd Aunt) prepared a breakfast feast for us before we start our make up that day! Honestly, I started gaining fat before the Perth trip and now, with her meals full of love, how can I keep slim?! (Excuses, I know XD) But I really love Auntie Helen and Uncle Stephen! They are really a great host and family!
Before we leave the house for the photoshoot of the day, Uncle Stephen asked us to take a photo in their living room. So... Hehe. XP
Feels like in a studio right? :D (Photo credits: IG @missyprue)
Claremont Jetty
Before heading to the city we first had our photoshoot at the Claremont Jetty. With the sun, the blue sky and the blue sea, it really makes you feel how great is God's wonderful creation! Oh yea and the sea, it makes me wanna jump into it. If it wasn't because we still have to continue our shoot with the same gown...... *sob*

The Blue Boat House
We later moved to the famous blue boat house. I had been here 3 years ago and the building looks older than the last time I saw it! (Guess maintenance wasn't done well...) Too bad the jetty connected to the house was spoiled, so we only can have our photoshoot far away.
Before we head down to the blue house, let's take a wefie!
No behind the scene available so let's wait patiently for the actual ones! XD
Perth City
We took photos along St Georges Terrace, outside of St George's Cathedral and in front of Supreme Court of Western Australia. It's kinda funny where people keep looking at you wearing wedding gowns walking here and there around the city, but it's heart warming when people congratulated you for your wedding (Oh yeah, they usually take photos with their wedding gowns on the actual day, so maybe that's why they congratulated us, even its working day which doesn't make sense to them! Haha!) Nevertheless, the whole photoshoot also went smoothly. Me and James felt like touring rather than a "real" photoshoot, that makes Prue asking: Why don't you feel nervous? Honestly... We had no idea too. Maybe cause we both are too childish? XD
Behind the scene. I know. Super rare gentle scene. Please treasure it well. XD (Photo credits: IG @missyprue)
Monday (3rd session) - Lancelin Sand Dunes
It's my first time here.
This. Place. Is. Like. Heaven!
This photoshoot location was suggested by David and he had some ideas on the photoshoot. So, yeah, we go on with his plan and came all the way there with nearly 2 hours drive.
No regrets!
The moment I arrive, I was totally awed by the awesomeness of this sand dune! The hills of white sand makes it looks so majestic! Climbing high up you can see the Indian Ocean and it's awesomely beautiful! It really makes me proclaim: God, You are worthy to be praised!!!
The funnest part is, I took off my shoes and walked bare feet during the whole photography session! The sand is so cool plus the cool breeze... Gosh, I could stay there whole day!!! After the photoshoot we played sand boarding WITH OUR GOWN AND SUIT. Cause we can't wait to play! Don't judge us! >:3

All thanks to David for this beautiful photoshoot! I love it!!! (Source: FB: Seventyone Production, IG: @studio_71)
Tuesday (4th session) - Wineries
Finally it's the last session of our photoshoot session. We didn't wake up early, just enjoy another breakfast feast provided by Auntie Helen, and then went for shopping for a while, then go back home and prepare for the makeup and hairdo. Everything was kinda slow and steady, and after lunch, we head to Swan Valley.
We first went to Lancaster Wines and then to Standalford. But before we head to Standalford, we kinda like enjoyed our time at Lancaster, drinking wine and photoshoot like a high class society people wearing those gown and suit! Once in a lifetime yo! XD

Photoshoot COMPLETED!!! Celebration pose!!! Whee~~~
Weather
This is a must share blessings too! We was told by Auntie Helen and our dear florist Doreen that the weather on the week before we came was super hot, about 31 degree Celsius. Yet on the week we were there, the temperature went down a bit, and it wasn't as hot as the previous week. And guess what! The next day after we completed our photoshoot, it started to drizzle~ How lucky we were!Finally...
"Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believed that you have received it, and it will be yours." (Mark 11:24)
This is what Jesus taught us, we practiced it, and we are blessed! This year had been a tough year for both me and James, yet by FAITH, we chose to go strong together, in the path God prepared for us, and we were grateful that this trip, was a totally blessed trip for us. It can also be said as a "power-up" trip, a "refreshed" trip for us, to face the difficulties ahead of us. Yet the Bible also promised us that: "I can do all things through CHRIST who strengthens me." (Philippians 4:13) So no matter how hard it is, we will still be strengthen in Christ!
Lastly, let's continue to practice our faith while waiting for the final editing patiently! :)
xoxo,
James & Nelly ♥
P/S: Thank you so much David and Prue once again for the wonderful times we had~ We are really blessed to have you two~ Hope to see you guys again real soon! :D ♥
